Curious question: What is your photo journal about?
Most of us have very powerful phone cameras that can take amazing pictures. Why do we take what we take? Why does a particular image touch you? What did you feel when taking that shot? I love taking pictures of accidental shadows, water reflections etc.
There are many accidental moments when playing with light and material, and one has to be sensitive to know which image to keep for the final film. Sometimes, playing will not give you any new ideas but it is one of the ways to keep your mind fresh. Keep a lookout for the chicken, a character in the film that was made unexpectedly during a random playing session.
